This is a Royal Flying Corps Pilots Logbook which has been filled in by 2/Lt Cyril Arthur Brook of Batley, Yorkshire. He flew in RE8’s as an observer with possibly No18 Sqn. There are 104 entries, with the first dated 15 Nov 1917 and the last 19 May 1918, with a total of 209 hrs and 25 mins. Some are listed as patrols and some as photography shoots of the trenches over the Courcelles area. There are at least 3 combats listed including one with a Fokker Triplane. There are three crashes or forced landings and he was lightly wounded with shrapnel. The logbook is a fascinating piece of history, worthy of further research and in excellent condition for the age. Included in the sale is a period postcard, a 1916 training manual and a pair of flat Royal Flying Corps wings - we are unsure if these are period or reproduction,
Please look at photos. Also included is a photocopy of Brook’s war record. This is a rare opportunity to own history.
