Like most customers I would like to own an  original Cuthbert Orde portrait drawing from the Battle of Britain and afterwards. If, however I ever came across one I doubt I could afford to buy it anyway. I thought the next best thing was to have a go at creating a copy of some of them myself. This drawing of the famous 92 Sqn Battle of Britain Spitfire Pilot Tony Bartley is just like the one drawn by Cuthbert Orde. I have made it as close to the original as possible, using charcoal and white highlights on grey Ingres pastel paper. The only difference is that it is not signed by Orde. The paper is roughly A3 in size and the drawing comes with an original Tony Bartley pencil signature.
