This is a superb copy of Against The Sun - The Story of Wing Commander Roland Beamont, by Edward Lanchberry. The book is in excellent condition for it’s age with some slight sunning to the spine of the price clipped dustjacket. The book has been flat signed by Roland Beamont. ‘Bee’ Beamont was a well known fighter ace and test pilot who flew with 87 Sqn in the Battle of France/ Britain, became test pilot for Hawker on the Typhoon and Tempest, flew operationally with 609 Sqn against the V1 rockets and finally test pilot for the Canberra, P1 Lightning, TSR2 and the Tornado.
The book also includes an original pencil drawing remarque of a Hawker Tempest by Steve Teasdale.
A superb copy from 1955 which has aged remarkably well.
