On the night of 25/26th October 1940, towards the end of the Battle of Britain, 6 aircraft (3 Blenheim & 3 Beaufighters) from 219 Sqn carried out operational patrols. Sgt Hodgkinson & Sgt Benn (signed the print) intercepted and engaged a DO 17, which they claimed as destroyed. This was 219 Sqn’s first victory and reputedly the first to be credited to a Beaufighter. This print by Steve Teasdale has been signed in pencil by the artist and SIX Battle of Britain veterans who flew with 219 Sqn - Terry Clark, Albert Gregory, John Keatings, Dick Summers, Howard Duart & Gordon Benn. The print is approx A3 in size and has never been framed, having always been stored flat. This is a good opportunity to own an affordable piece of artwork signed by 6 veterans from the same Battle of Britain Squadron.
