This is a stunning copy of the 1991 first edition of Malta: The Spitfire Year by Chris Shores. This thick and highly detailed book has been enhanced with an amazing set of signatures and a HUGE Remarqued original pencil drawing of the famous Canadian Ace George ‘ Buzz’ Beurling by Steve Teasdale. The book features a copy of The London Gazette citation for Sqn Ldr Laddie Lucas’ DFC as C/O of 249 Sqn from July 1942. The citation has been signed in person by Lucas. Mounted underneath is another Malta spitfire pilot’s signature from 249 Sqn - Harold Moon. There is a further flat signature in the book which is obviously relevant but we do not recognise it. The author, Christopher Shores, has also signed this copy. All this makes this copy extremely collectable, not forgetting the fact that Laddie Lucas was also Buzz Bueurling’s Commanding Officer for a period of time on Malta. The book is in excellent condition  with a few minor creases & very slight marks stopping it from being classed as mint.
