This is a real one - off piece!
This original pencil portrait by Steve Teasdale depicts Amiens Prison Raid ( Operation Jericho ) Leader Percy Charles Pickard DSO & 2 Bars, DFC. Pickard was killed in his mosquito on the raid during a dogfight with FW190’s. His navigator, Flt Lt JA Broadley was also killed. The 487 Sqn RNZAF mosquito (HX922) crashed near the village of St, Gratien. The portrait also includes a piece of wreckage attributed to the crash site, ready to mount underneath the drawing. We are very lucky to have three pieces of the aircraft and this is the only piece still available for sale.
This is a real piece of RAF history from an incredibly daring raid.
The drawing has been completed on heavyweight A4 size cartridge paper.
