There is not much wrong with the condition of this early post war memoir. The book has very little browning or spotting with some fading on the spine. The iconic dustjacket is rarely seen in such lovely condition, the colours being bright with no fading or creases. There is some slight rubbing to the front corner of the spine however. This is a 1954 impression. It has been enhanced with a large pencil portrait remarque of Clostermann by Steve Teasdale. Clostermann’s genuine signature has been mounted underneath the portrait. During the war Clostermann has been claimed to have achieved 33 air-to-air combat victories, earning the accolade "France's First Fighter" from General Charles de Gaulle. His wartime memoir, The Big Show (Le Grand Cirque) became a notable bestseller. A lovely bright copy in excellent condition.
