This is a lovely 1942 hardback copy of Drawing the RAF by war artist Eric Kennington. It is rare to see this book in such whole condition with an original dustjacket. The book was originally owned by Robert Wright, Hugh Dowding’s personal Aide during the Battle of Britain. The text in the book has been underlined in pencil by Bob Wright on a number of pages. Many of the pages are clean and bright but some have varying degrees of spotting, commensurate with the age of the book. There are both black & white and coloured plates in the book, showing Kennington’s talent for portraiture. The book has been enhanced further with n original pencil drawing of fighter ace Douglas Bader by Steve Teasdale, in the style of Eric Kennington. The genuine signature of Bader has been professionally mounted underneath the portrait. This is a lovely collectable copy of this wartime release.
