This is a 1981 First Edition Hardback featuring the story of the attack on the Scharnhorst, Gneisenau & Prinz Eugen by the brave flyers of the Fleet Air Arm in their antiquated Fairey Swordfish. The book features a specially produced bookplate bearing a genuine piece of canvas from a restored WW2 Fairey Swordfish. The signatures of two of the aircrew from the attack are also professionally mounted on the title page. Both Charles Kingsmill and Edgar Lee are mentioned in the book. The dustjacket is whole and bright at the front with some very slight grubbiness to the rear. The book has a slightly bumped spine and evidence of feint spotting to the page ends on the top and on the first flyleaf but nothing at all to detract from the cleanliness of the book.
A lovely copy of an amazing story.
