This 1989 first edition hardback is in superb condition. There is a possibility that the title lettering on the spine is slightly faded but the book is excellent elsewhere. It has been written by ‘Dicky’ Austen who flew as a navigator with 218 Squadron Bomber Command, joining the RAF in 1939 and seeing the war out until the end. It is a fascinating glimpse into the life of one airman’s sorties in Bomber Command. The book has been dedicated to Battle of Britain author and Hugh Dowding’s Aide Bob Wright. It has been further enhanced with a pencil drawing by Steve Teasdale of a Bomber Command navigator. The forward is written by fellow ww2 navigator Patrick Moore. A scarce signed copy of this great account.
