This is a specially produced glossy bookplate bearing the genuine signature of Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot Trevor Gray. After converting to Spitfires at 7 OTU Hawarden he joined 64 Squadron at Leconfield on 16th September. On 21st December 1940 Gray shared in the destruction of a Do17 over the English Channel.
He was posted away to 58 OTU at Grangemouth on 3rd April 1941 as an instructor.
