This 1978 1st Ed hardback is in almost mint condition. Peter Townsend was Commanding Officer of 85 Sqn during the Battle of Britain and was also famous for his relationship with Princess Margaret. The book has been signed on the title page by Peter Townsend ( with his usual lovely flowing large signature ) and includes a striking original drawing of a hurricane in pen by Steve Teasdale. To keep it all neat on the back of the page there is a bookplate with a mounted genuine piece of WW2 Pilot Officer rank ribbon.
As mentioned, the book is in stunning condition with no spotting or discolouration. There is a very slight suggestion of a feint band of lighter colour on the dustjacket but this looks like it could be a printing issue rather than fading. We have another custom made dustjacket from an official signing session which we can include also. A superb copy.
