This is in our opinion the best ( & first ) of the Men of The Battle of Britain books. This 1989 dated first edition is in super condition with just a hint of sunning on the dustjacket spine. It has been seriously enhanced with 4 portraits. Three are Eric Kennington colour prints of Douglas Bader, Ginger Lacey & John Cunningham. All have been originally signed in pencil by the famous fighter aces. The fourth bookplate features an original Steve Teasdale pencil drawing of John Hemingway, the last of ‘the few’. This portrait has been signed in pencil by three further Battle of Britain veterans - Nigel Rose, Byron Duckenfield & Len Davies. All these pilots have biographies in this book. A superbly collectable copy of this definitive book on the aircrew who bravely fought through the Battle of Britain in the Summer of 1940.
